Lara was not only my daughter but my mate. She was born as one of a twin. Her twin brother died in utero and as she grew up she was very concious of that. She was born by Caesarian Section at 32 weeks weighing just appx 4ibs. Although she never asked for details but she would not have her birthday celebrated despite my reasurance that it was ok to do so. She was so much loved by us all dad, brothers, sister and she knew she could get whatever she wanted. She started Primary School at Windsor St Primary School , then went to Christian Fellowship and later finished up at Gilmour Primary School at Garston. While at Gilmour she was a member of thier Football team. She really loved playing football. From earlier on in her life she had wanted to be on the television. She used to say "mum , I know what I want to be" She enjoyed going to Arch Bishop Girls Secondary School and was involved in sports activities. She won many medals and the Parents Association Trophy at Year 4. Even though she was asthmatic it did not disturb her from taking part in athletics. After her A Levels at the College of Arts Liverpool, she told me she wanted to go to the University in the South and wanted to do Media studies /Televison Production. She left home at the age of 18 but always regarded Liverpool as her home. She always came home frequently for weekends-really missing her not coming through the door again. One day I was at a clinic in the Town centre seeing antenatal women and the receptionist came to tell me that someomne was looking for me and when I came out of the room it was my daughter -Lara. She said "mum came home to surprise you" She enjoyed her University life at Highwycombe and made lots of friend. Her room mates -Richmond and Martin were really good for her and she grew up quickly. At her funeral all her friends from Highwycombe came and their tribute at her Thanks Giving service highlighted how she was liked. After finishing at the University she stayed down in the South to get job. She was hard working and was determined to work with the Television. She did all sorts of job even as a "checkout" at B & Q in London. Her first break was with BEN Television. She was delighted and I remember telling her that it would be a start to learn the "trade" While at BEN she went with the Crew to St Vincent's and Ethopia to do documentaries. Even when she was there she was looking to set up her own video production business as "Freelance" I always told her she had to believe that God made all things possible. When she got the job at the MTV she was so made up . She used to say MTV is an International company and she would try to get a permanent post there or somewhere else. Her career was cut short by her death in Nigeria on the 23rd of April 2009 the night before she was due back to London. She was hoping to get job with BBC as her time of employment would have been finishing end of April. She went to Nigeria for the funeral of her grandad. Lara enjoyed travelling and she went to China to spend time with her mate Poona , travelled to different places in Europe with her boyfriend. She was always proud of my success in my career. She was always with me whenever I was receiving any Award. She even invited me to BEN studio in 2008 to appear on the Mother's Day programme. Your dad and Kole are missing you badly but I know even though you have "GONE TOO SOON" we will see one another again. After your brother Julius Kayode died in 2005 December 23rd we stopped having christmas in the house but in 2007 you bought Chrismas Tree and you said mum we must have christmas. On Chrismas day 2008, you laid the table and for the first time ater 13 years we all ate on the table. Well, Christmas will never be the same again but will be another day to remember our loved ones.
